My exhibition Echo of the Struggle for Indonesia can be seen from 1 June to 30 November 2024 at museum Bronbeek in Arnhem.
These two grandsons of Andi Makkasau whom I photographed in South Sulawesi are still grieving over what happened to their grandfather during the struggle for Indonesia`s independence.
Come to Bronbeek to see what they, and descendants of other families who experienced this struggle, want us to see, such as descendants of Soekarno, Hatta, Spoor, Van Mook, Princen, Sjahrir and Westerling.
